blonde wig at chuch
So now I have a brown a-line wig, long blonde wig and dark brown/reddish wig. Wore the blonde wig to church today and had lots of comments!!! Anyway, day 6 after chemo feeling pretty good. I dream of yummy food; cookies, lasagna, Sunday Brunch, you name it I crave it but everything tastes yucky. It's that metallic taste that I don't taste much on it's own but then when you taste food with it. YUCK. The only thing that tastes "normal" is grapefruit juice, everything else just doesn't taste right. Karlee's advice with my lack of hair is to just get used to my new normal. So I guess it goes with food too. Bummer. I think food will taste better this week, maybe it's just that first week, I'm crossing my fingers. I sure am thinking different lately about change, trying to embrace it rather than be scared of it. And Jake and I are really rethinking hair, at least all the emphasis we put on outward beauty. Don't get me wrong it's important to look your best and take care of yourself but wow I've seen a side of him in the last 4 months that I must have fell in love with and held onto for those years we dated...

Grapefruit juice - really? How weird! Did they tell you that beforehand? Jakey is pretty awesome. But that's why he has you - to match! Love ya.
ReplyDeleteI talked to a very good friend of mine yesterdy who is a mother of 7 and a lukemia survivor. I told her about your blog. I'm sending her the address this morning. We talked about hair loss and she never wore wigs... each sunday, she just came to church...BALD AND BEAUTIFUL! I say go for it! it's like what dr seus says, "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind, don't matter and those who matter, don't mind."
